Specialized Publicado 21 de Septiembre del 2006 Denunciar Publicado 21 de Septiembre del 2006 Parece ser que despues de superar las 315 MPH con un dragster, al frenar con los paracaídas hubo problemas y sufrió un aparatoso accidente dejandolo en estado critico. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21092006/140/top-...rror-crash.html http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006430740,00.html Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson has been to see fellow presenter Richard Hammond who is in hospital in a serious condition after being injured in a 315mph car crash. The 36-year-old was filming an attempt to set an unofficial British land speed record when the jet-powered dragster, called Vampire, overturned. He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary from Elvington airfield near York yesterday. A hospital spokesman said Mr Hammond is being treated in a neurological unit and is now in a serious but stable condition after showing "some improvement" overnight. Mr Hammond's wife Amanda and a brother are at the hospital. Jeremy Clarkson said, at the hospital, said: "James May and I are at the hospital in Leeds where Richard remains in intensive care. "Obviously at this time both he and his family are the most important concerns we have. "It must be devastating for his wife Mindy and his two utterly adorable children. "I would just like to say how heartened Richard will be when I tell him just how many motorists and truck drivers on my way here wound down their windows to say they were rooting for him. Both James and I are looking forward to getting our hamster back." At the airfield today the wreckage was covered with a green tarpaulin as investigations were launched into how the accident happened. Dave Ogden, one of the first on the scene, said Hammond had been travelling at speeds close to 300mph. "One of the parachutes had deployed but it went on to the grass and spun over and over before coming to a rest about 100 yards from us." Sky sources understand that Top Gear co-presenter James May had been due to drive Vampire but pulled out ahead of the event. The current British land speed record is held by Colin Fallows, from Northampton, in the car which reached 300.3mph in 2000. Esperamos que vuelva pronto con nosotros!! Responder

Richard: doctors 'optimistic' of good recoveryDoctors at Leeds General Infirmary said they are 'reasonably optimistic' that Richard Hammond will make a good recovery after his crash in a jet-powered car. News continues to emerge from the hospital where Richard's wife Mindy and their daughters Willow and Isabella are at his bedside. We have received well over 4,000 emails today from Top Gear readers wishing Richard well - and the inbox is growing as each second ticks by. The accident happened during filming for the new series of Top Gear at the former RAF airfield in Elvington, near York. Richard was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary's neurological unit. A hospital spokesman said this morning: "He has seen some improvement overnight, but remains in a serious but stable condition." We spoke to Jeremy earlier today - he visited Richard and Mindy in Leeds and you can read his statement here. Like us, his thoughts are with Mindy and the family. Obviously we expect the crash will be fully investigated by the Health and Safety Executive and the BBC. The BBC said in a statement: "We are pleased to hear that Richard has improved slightly overnight, but we continue to be concerned about his condition and we are keeping in touch with his family. "The circumstances of this accident will be fully investigated by the BBC, and this process began last night. "We will, of course, be fully co-operating with any investigation by the police and the Health and Safety Executive. Until the BBC's investigation is complete, it would be inappropriate to comment on the details of what happened." Responder

Specialized Publicado 22 de Septiembre del 2006 Autor Denunciar Publicado 22 de Septiembre del 2006 Ya ha salido de la UCI Y Clarkson ya está haciendo gags TOP Gear host Jeremy Clarkson made his seriously ill co-star Richard Hammond smile yesterday — by calling him “a c**p driver”. Richard, 36, suffered a “significant brain injury” in a dragster crash at Elvington Airfield yesterday. Jeremy, 46, spent the day with Richard and chatted to him for an hour. He told The Sun last night: “I was being nice to him for a change. Horror ... crash scene yesterday Picture: JOHN GILES/PA “But I wasn’t getting any reaction. He probably thought ‘That sounds like Clarkson but it can’t be — he’s saying nice things’. “He was lying peacefully with a black eye but didn’t react so I tried something else. “I said: ‘The reason you’re here is because you’re a c**p driver’. He then smiled at me. “It was an amazing moment, very moving.” Richard was injured as his dragster veered out of control at around 300mph, rolled over and landed upside down at the airfield, near York. His dad Alan said yesterday: “We’re not sure if he’s going to live or die. It is a very hard time for us. We are just hoping Richard pulls through. His children are very confused.” Mr Hammond and wife Eileen are looking after grandchildren Isabella, five, and Willow, two, at Richard’s home in Payford, Gloucs. His wife Amanda, 35, is by his bedside in Leeds where he was seriously ill but stable. Yesterday it was revealed Top Gear crew members had planned a meeting with producers YESTERDAY after a recent “near miss”. Telly industry website Broadcastnow claimed that some Top Gear crew had expressed health and safety concerns. The BBC denied the meeting was linked to health and safety. Today Richard's condition improved and he has been moved out of intensive care. Responder

También era el que mas me gustaba :clap1: :clap1: . topgear-news September 28, 2006 Richard leaves Leeds Hospital Richard's doctors say that he is making 'very good progress' in his recovery from last Wednesday's jet car crash. He was today transferred to a Bristol hospital after a short journey across Leeds in the same helicopter that airlifted him from the scene of his accident. Richard was laughing and smiling with the paramedics as the transfer took place. Richard's wife Mindy and their daughters Willow and Isabella have been 'overwhelmed' by support from fans and well-wishers. We alone have received well over 16,000 emails since the accident from Top Gear readers wishing Richard well - and the inbox is still growing. A website set up by fans has also managed to raise more than £150,000 for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, which airlifted Richard to hospital on Wednesday. The Air Ambulance service has announced that these donations will help to 'bring forward' plans to operate a second helicopter, which may be named after the Hamster. Mindy has asked that well-wishers make a donation to the Air Ambulance instead of sending flowers. The accident happened during filming for the new series of Top Gear at the former RAF airfield in Elvington, near York. Richard was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary's neurological unit. Jeremy and James have both visited Richard and Mindy in Leeds - and you can read Jeremy's statement here. Like us, their thoughts are with Mindy and the family. Responder
