The Airstream Skydeck lifts the lid on mobile homes Mobile homes have come a long way since the days of the humble caravan. With the SkyDeck motorhome from Airstream you really can take it all with you - and sleep under the stars with the SkyDeck's unique, full-sized roof patio. Much like the slide-out revolutionized the motorhome industry throughout the 1990s by providing customers with more available living area, the SkyDeck almost doubles the square footage of a motor coach with it's rooftop patio. Accessed via an inside hardwood staircase and safely enclosed within a perimeter railing, the SkyDeck lets you enjoy entertaining and other outdoor activities with an unobstructed, panoramic view. Surprisingly, the SkyDeck patio adds just 10 inches of height to a standard coach, allowing the Airstream motorhome to retain a low profile. The fibreglass "streamliner" gives the coach a sleek look, belying the presence of the strong roof superstructure. The Airstream SkyDeck is built upon the rock-solid Freightliner XC Chassis, providing travellers with unparalleled performance and convenient service. Its 330 HP Caterpillar diesel engine provides 860 ft. lbs. of torque, and the power and performance customers demand. With other RV roof platform add-ons access is often via temporary, rickety and awkward ladders. The platforms themselves are small, with no available seating. In contrast, the SkyDeck's marine-grade weatherproof rooftop furniture takes about 30 seconds to unfold. All you do is flip two switches, engaging hydraulic actuators that convert the roof from a streamlined traveller to a spacious and accommodating rooftop oasis. There's seating for at least 15 friends and family members or for elegant corporate client hospitality, with standing room for even more. And it's safe - the patio is engineered by Airstream to withstand a heavy load. When it's time to head back down stairs, the patio conveniently retracts within seconds from controls inside the coach. Priced at US $255,173 for the SkyDeck XL 390, you can now own your home on wheels for less than some luxury sports cars. The Airstream SkyDeck features include: *Two slide-outs in the lower level of the coach for additional living space. *Upscale touches on the coach's interior, including Corian countertops, tile floors and panoramic windows for spectacular views. *Airstream's dependable suspension system to cushion your way down rough roads. *A thick blanket of fibreglass insulation that lines every inch of the floor, wall and ceiling of the motorhome to keep you comfortable, regardless of the weather outside. Bedroom The SkyDeck's bedroom features plenty of storage space, along with a comfy bed outfitted with a quality innerspring mattress. Close the bathroom door to the living area and the bathroom/ bedroom becomes a spacious and convenient bath and dressing room. The bedroom also comes with a telephone hook up, 20" stereo TV, and optional DVD/VHS home theatre system. Bathroom Standard features such as a bath vent with power lift, chrome/brass fixtures, and a large mirrored medicine cabinet give all the conveniences of home. An optional washer and dryer allow you to keep your things clean during extended trips. Driver's Compartment The driver's compartment fully reflects Airstream's decades of design experience. All controls are intuitively located within easy reach and the standard wide body leather cockpit seating offers an integrated three-point seatbelt system specially chosen for comfort and safety. Large panoramic windows give you a clear view of the highway and breathtaking views of the scenery. Galley The galley slide-out provides you extra space right where you need it - in the busiest part of the living area. The writer's table conveniently doubles as a spacious, freestanding dinette.
