Audi is offering a new engine/transmission combination for the A3 and A3 Sportback – and, what’s more, in all three trim lines. The 2.0 TFSI with front-wheel drive and six-speed manual gearbox helps the A3 to achieve excellent performance figures. The 147 kW (200 bhp) direct-injection petrol engine with turbocharger gives the three-door and Sportback versions of the Audi A3 a top speed of 236 km/h. The Audi A3 has an average fuel consumption of 7.9 litres per 100 km and accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The Audi A3 2.0 TFSI costs 25,150 euros (the A3 Sportback starts at 26,050 euros). The TFSI engine, which is offered for the Audi A3, A4 and A6 models, was voted “Engine of the Year” in its class by a specialist international jury.

 

AUDI AG will be increasing prices for the A3 and A4 by an average of 0.9 per cent, with effect from 5 September 2005. Prices for the Audi A6 will increase by 1.1 per cent and for the A8 by 0.8 per cent on average. Several attractive engine versions of the A3, A4, A6 and A8, as well as the A4 Cabriolet, S4 Cabriolet and the TT, will be unaffected by the increase in price.
